Back on the beach for the Washington State International Kite Festival 2022 and first WSIKF since 2019 when then Miss Washington USA Evelyn Clark was our first celebrity book reader at our first public book reading of “The Kite That Touched the Sky” held in the Activities Tent at the festival. Little did we know that the pandemic would close so many events during the next couple of years and it was great to back “in-person” flying kites and have some book reading events at the festival this year too. “The Real Emily” introduced herself to other kids at the tent and we missed our other book cover grandkid Jason and his little brother Julian, a “Kumquat Kid” addition in 2020 but we brought the newest “Kumquat Kid” Sophie, not quite two months old, for her first trip a kite festival and enjoyed a day of kite flying, sandcastle building with Papa, and toes in the sand kid’s day fun.
